Beach-raised. mountain-made.

Nick Spear never really fit in with the other kids. Hiding from the San Diego sun in the shade of suburban living rooms, putting on eyeliner and binge-listening to the back catalogs of bands like The Smiths, The Cure, and Bauhaus, Nick longed for colder climes, far from the never-ending sprawl of identical houses and beach party culture.

Some bloom where they’re planted, others need their seeds to be carried by crows to the mountaintops. Nick eventually wandered his way to Montana, where he found his true creative footing. His melodramatic goth upbringing crashed against the ranch fences of Montana to form a style that is western, but not country… theatrical, but not theatre… contemplative and brooding, but often tinged with a wry wit… and always leaning towards something dark and sparkling.
